Jakarta, July 22, 2026 – The Green Innovation Cooperation Center (GICC) successfully held its third seminar of 2026, titled “BPOM Regulatory Compliance and Market Entry Strategies for Korean Companies in Indonesia,” on Wednesday, July 22, at the KOSME Global Business Center in Jakarta. The seminar aimed to provide Korean companies with a comprehensive understanding of Indonesia’s BPOM regulations and product registration procedures prior to entering the Indonesian market. The event was attended by representatives from Korean companies across various industries, particularly the cosmetics, health supplements, and traditional medicine sectors.

The seminar was officially opened by Mr. Kim Heesoon, Director of GICC. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that a thorough understanding of Indonesia’s regulatory framework is one of the key preparations Korean companies should undertake before entering the Indonesian market. Through this seminar, GICC hopes to serve as a bridge for information exchange while strengthening cooperation between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea in promoting sustainable business development.

The welcoming remarks were followed by Ms. Kim Youna from KOSME Global Business Center, who expressed her appreciation to the speakers and participants for their attendance. She also conveyed her hope that the seminar would serve as a valuable platform for sharing information and practical experiences among Korean companies seeking to expand their businesses in Indonesia.

The first presentation was delivered by Ms. Rita Kholilah from the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM) of the Republic of Indonesia, who discussed the registration procedures for traditional medicines, health supplements, and cosmetics in Indonesia. During her presentation, she highlighted the importance of understanding product classifications, as each category follows different registration requirements and evaluation procedures. She also explained BPOM’s ongoing efforts to improve public services through digital transformation, including the development of an electronic registration system and the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance services for business operators.

“The safety, quality, and efficacy of products are not solely the responsibility of BPOM. Business operators also have the obligation to ensure that the products they manufacture and distribute comply with all applicable regulations,” said Ms. Rita

The second session featured Mr. Moon Hyung Gyung from PT NTSKY Jaya Indonesia, who shared practical insights into the BPOM product registration process from the perspective of Korean companies. He explained the essential preparations required before submitting a registration application, including company establishment, licensing through Indonesia’s Online Single Submission (OSS) system, and the completeness of supporting documents from manufacturers in Korea to ensure a smoother registration process.

“Even minor discrepancies in the company name, address, brand, or product information may require document revisions and significantly prolong the registration process,” explained Mr. Moon.

Participants actively took the opportunity to consult directly with the speakers regarding various challenges encountered during the product registration process in Indonesia. This session enabled participants to gain a more comprehensive understanding of both the regulatory requirements and their practical implementation.

Through this seminar, GICC once again reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Korean companies in understanding Indonesia’s regulatory framework while strengthening economic cooperation between Indonesia and the Republic of Korea through programs that provide practical value to the business community.
